Singapore has taken a groundbreaking step by incorporating artificial intelligence (AI) technology into its regulatory framework for online gambling. The Casino Regulatory Authority (CRA) announced a partnership with tech companies to develop systems capable of identifying risky gambling behaviors in real time.
The AI system will analyze user behavior, such as frequent deposits, late-night gaming, and prolonged sessions, to detect patterns associated with addiction. Operators are required to flag high-risk users and provide intervention options, such as counseling services and self-exclusion tools.
The initiative has been praised by public health advocates, but privacy concerns have been raised regarding the extent of data collection. Nevertheless, Singapore continues to position itself as a leader in responsible gambling practices.
